Usman Dembele has been a major signing interest from many big clubs around the globe, it was early on assumed that PSG was in pole position to sign the Barcelona winger who has a year left on his Barcelona contract amid interest from many wealthy clubs.
After ignoring Barça’s offer for six months, Dembélé is now close to accepting it – because he has no other offers on the table. Of course, Chelsea has now switched their attention to Raheem Sterling, who is considered a cheaper alternative compared to the Barcelona winger and improved his performance last season which eventually won Manchester City the title.
The head coach of Barcelona Xavi Hernandez is not ready to lose the France international any time sooner and values his services highly, he wants to build the team around the creative winger whose pace and trickery are always a problem for defenders.
Bayern Munich was heavily interested in acquiring the services of the highly-rated winger who in his days at Dortmund was a force to reckon with but after securing the services of Sadio Mane from Liverpool their interest in Dembele has been laid to waste, Mane is a much fitter option compared to the France international who gets injured occasionally.
