Two concerts will be held in memory of legendary rock guitarist Jeff Beck, who passed away in January 2022 at the age of 78 from bacterial meningitis. The tribute concerts will take place on 22 and 23 May 2023 at the Royal Albert Hall, and are set to feature a star-studded lineup of musicians, including Eric Clapton, Johnny Depp, and Sir Rod Stewart.

Beck’s widow, Sandra Cash, and Clapton have announced the concerts to pay tribute to the renowned guitarist’s legacy. The performances are expected to include a number of high-profile artists, with Doyle Bramhall, Gary Clark Jr, Billy Gibbons, Imelda May, John McLaughlin, Robert Randolph, Joss Stone, Susan Tedeschi, and Derek Trucks among those reportedly interested in participating. The final lineup will be confirmed closer to the date of the performances.
Beck was known for his innovative style that combined elements of hard rock, jazz, blues, and even opera. He first came to prominence as a member of The Yardbirds and then launched a solo career that spanned six decades. During his career, Beck won eight Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, with The Yardbirds in 1992 and as a solo artist in 2009.

Shortly before his passing, Beck had finished touring his latest album, 18, which he recorded with Johnny Depp. The decision to collaborate on the album shortly after Depp’s highly-publicized defamation battle with ex-wife Amber Heard made headlines. The two musicians first met in 2016 and began recording the album in 2019 while Depp was also playing with Alice Cooper’s supergroup Hollywood Vampires.
Fans of Beck’s music are able to register for pre-sale tickets for the tribute concerts, which will go on sale on March 14th at 10 am. Tickets for the concerts will go on general sale on March 15th at 10 am. Surplus income from the concerts will be donated to the Folly Wildlife Rescue, based in Tunbridge Wells.
