‘It’s unfortunate that personal lives creep into everything we do,’ said Jerry Bruckheimer
Depp starred as Captain Jack Sparrow in five Pirates movies, from 2003’s The Curse of the Black Pearl to 2017’s Dead Men Tell No Tales.
However, while a sixth film is reportedly in development, Depp is no longer associated with the franchise and is leaving due to a high-profile legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard.
Asked by The Hollywood Reporter if Depp could appear in a future Pirates film, Bruckheimer said, “You’ll have to ask [Disney]. I can’t answer that question. I really don’t know.

Then he added:
“I would love to see him in a movie. He’s a friend and a great actor, and it’s unfortunate that his privacy seeps into everything we do.”
On Monday, December 19, Heard announced that he had settled a defamation case with Depp.
wrote on Instagram, “Many After much consideration, I have made the very difficult decision to settle a defamation case filed by my ex-husband in Virginia.”
“It is important to say that I never chose this. I stood up for my truth and in doing so destroyed my life as I knew it. The slander I’ve encountered on social media is an extended version of how women become victims again when they come forward.
“I didn’t confess.” she said her “This is not an act of concession. There are no restrictions or jokes on my voice in the future,” she said.
